During higher studies in Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) at Mymensingh Dr. A.B.M. Sharif Uddin got an opportunity to work as field supervisor and then as a research fellow of the department of plant pathology, BAU. By this time, he entered government job vide 11^th BCS. He did join as first posting as Assistant Commissioner & Magistrate at Divisional Commissioner Office Khulna.

Before joining as CEO Rajshahi City Corporation, he gathered versatile experience of different organizations. As a joint secretary of the Bangladesh Government he is experienced as Additional Director General of RDA (Rural Development Academy) Bogura and Director of Government Employee Hospital, Dhaka. Earlier he performed as Deputy Refugee Relief & Repatriation Commissioner, Cox’s bazar; CEO NatoreZilla Parishad and Director (Development), Bangladesh Government Employees Welfare Board Dhaka.

Until the position of Deputy Secretary, he got scope to serve in the field administration at upa-zilla or district of Bagerhat, Dinajpur, Panchagarh, Nilphamari and Sherpur. He also worked on deputation as CEO Jessore Cantonment.

In his long career Dr. Sharif studied Law and Political Science with kind permission of the government and finally Ph.D. In his credit more than dozens of research publications in different journals in home and abroad. His Ph.D. dissertation has been published as a research book in Lambert Academic Publishing, Germany.

So many in service trainings are accomplished including ACAD (Advanced Course on Administration and Development) and SSC (Senior Staff Course). To take part in study tour and courses Dr. Sharif visited some Asian & European countries.  On foreign training he went to AIT Thailand, Unan Academy of China and Duke University USA.

Dr. A.B.M. Sharif Uddin comes of a respected Muslim family. He is married and blessed with two sons.
